Excellent Graham! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Cheers cool.gif

Those karts really do sound flashy! As a matter of interest, how fast were they before the upgrade?

Gav- 07-05-2005
Apparently only around 50mph, but it feels like 70, with your arse on the floor biggrin.gif

Glyn- 07-05-2005
If my arse is going to be on the floor, I might take some lube... it was Mark Webber's strong suggestion tongue.gif

i dont know if i should be angry or dissapointed but its happened again!!!!!!

just recieved a phone call from the lovely chaps at karting north east.

"sorry graham we have cancel your booking for the time you asked for, the national mini motos championship need the track for that afternoon till about 8 oclock"

i mean bloody hell they must love causing me s**t, then he went on and said "im not sure who spoke with but we dont book arrive and drives, never have done never will do"

which is lies cause ive done them before mad.gif the way i can see it now we have 3 choices.

1. i phone them a week before and check for availiblity
2. we book it as a grand prix which gets us the spot but its £40
3. we go to the indoor track instead

1 & 2 are out of the question if they're using the track for the mini motos... and I've serious reservations about karting indoors at the height of August...

And of course you can't book Arrive and Drives... that's why they're called Arrive and Drives. All we've done in the past is asked if the track is available for them.

Graham- 07-06-2005
they are only using the track till 8, and the place is open till 9.

but i see what you mean about the indoor track that one tends to be popular because its cheap. do you want me to give them a call

Gav- 07-06-2005
I'm not racing indoors in August. Last time we raced indoors there were 2 normal length races and a long final race, and you end up completely dihyrated. Not ideal when you've got a long hot journey the next day.

Booking a GP for 8pm seems OK, but bare in mind it could overrun, and they have priority over us. And we all need to be back relatively early to get plenty of sleep, have showers, etc.

villarule- 07-10-2005
Well, good news!

Im about 75% sure I can go. I got offerd a job at a currys warehouse, so I should have money, and Im only working 9 hours a week ( sad.gif ), so i should be able to get time off or work more in the week. I dont know how it runs.

Gav- 07-11-2005
Speaking of money, and lack of, we're trying to work out what to do regarding Saturday night entertainment...

We've got the choice of going on the great outdoor track at Silverstone, but we'd need to book it, requiring a GP cost of £40 per head....

Or we can do the less impressive indoor track, quite a bit cheaper, and we'll roast, nearly literally, but it's an option.

Or we can do nothing, and point and laugh at each other, as is normal. tongue.gif

[Congrats to Graham for forgetting to post this tongue.gif]

hehe sorry about that gav, the shock of seeing you in a suit has left me very confused tongue.gif.

i reckon we should go with the GP i dont mind lending a few quid out, its £40 or go and watch 4 bikes on a gravel oval

Graham- 07-11-2005
OH ****!!!!

just been up the campsite where you lot were meant to be staying and apparantly they dont do tents anymore, its all bee redeveloped for caravans and motorhome.

and just to rub it in the guy the other two campsites in rothbury have both done the same......bugger sad.gif

however fear not, he told me "camp fogetmenot" in longhorsely still do tent pitching, which isnt very far from me smile.gif

Gav- 07-11-2005
Or we could just camp... like, in a field... or do it like you're supposed to, and erect our own house from tree bark, hand-made rope, and duck feathers, eat nettle soup, and go hunting for wild-bore.

Who says we're staying in Rothbury anyway...? Do we want to get attacked by hoodlums, high on Lynx? wink.gif

Graham- 07-11-2005
we cant afford lynx gav tongue.gif

where were u thinking of then?

Gav- 07-11-2005
Well 2 of us live in Shilbottle, it's about a minute from the A1, it makes more sense... plus no-one else has any drugs of any sort here, as Dave uses up the entire local supply.

Graham- 07-11-2005
LMAO

Well ill leave it to you find a field then wink.gif
